The Avett Brothers will bring their unique sound to the stage of the Convocation Center on October 22 at 8:00 pm.

From Concord, North Carolina The Avett Brothers formed in 2001 and have begun a new era of sound, combining folk rock, country, punk, pop melodies, and indie rock. The Avett Brothers have made mainstream waves and have rose to the top over the course of eight studio albums, including acclaimed albums Emotionalism, The Carpenter and their lauded major label debut, I and Love and You (2009).

The band is made up of two brothers, Scott Avett (banjo) and Seth Avett (guitar), as well as Bob Crawford (double bass) and Joe Kwon (cello), Mike Marsh (drums), Tania Elizabeth (violin) and Paul Defiglia (keyboard). The San Francisco Chronicle described the band as having, the tuneful jangle of the Beatles, and the raw energy of the Ramones.

With multiple debuts on the Billboard Top 200, The Avett Brothers have garnered unanimous critical acclaim from Rolling Stone, Paste, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, TIME, People, USA Today and American Songwriter. The band has performed on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno, The Late Show with David Letterman, Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.

A string of sold out shows followed as the boys continued to dream up their next step. For three nights in a row, the Avett Brothers sold out shows in Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado and continue to sell out arenas nationwide. In July 2015, The Avett Brothers were the opening act for The Rolling Stones performing in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Avett Brothers deliver personal and undoubtedly powerful performances, and continuously sell out shows worldwide.
