Unfortunately there won’t be a ‘Father of the Bride 3′

WELL, THIS IS A BUMMER:It seems that Steve Martin won't be reuniting with "Father of the Bride" costars Diane Keaton and Martin Short for a third installment. Photo: Associated Press

“Father of the Bride” star Steve Martin has dismissed rumors the film franchise is set for a gay revamp.

On Monday, reports suggested Martin and Diane Keaton were in talks to return for a third installment more than 20 years after the 1991 original hit cinemas.

However, the funnyman took to Twitter.com to dispel the rumors.

Reports suggested the third film would feature the parents, played by Martin and Keaton, planning yet another wedding – but this time, for their gay son.

Grown-up child star Kieran Culkin played the couple’s young son in the original “Father of the Bride” film and the 1995 sequel, “Father of the Bride Part II.”
