Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – November 28, 2024 – Organizers of the 17th annual Jonesboro Community Thanksgiving Meal say roughly 2,200 meals were assembled for the event held Thursday morning at the St. Bernards Auditorium. Of that number close to 2,000 meals were delivered by volunteers.

“We were thrilled,” said organizer Barbara Grisham Sanders. “We had an incredible number of volunteers including a great group of young people from Ameri Corp that I hope come back next year.”

Sanders said desserts were plentiful. “This is the first year we haven’t run out of desserts in a long time. We had a massive donation of desserts from Southern Confections and Abby Cakes.”

“This is the first year we had hardly any day-of call-ins,” Sanders said. “We probably won’t do those next year and do online only.”
