Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 17, 2024 – Voters are getting ready to hit the polls on Monday morning as early voting begins for the General Election in Craighead County.

“Voting is incredibly important,” said Craighead County Election Coordinator Jennifer Clack. “There are many local races happening in addition to the presidential race. These are people who make decisions right here in Jonesboro and Northeast Arkansas.”

According to Clack, voters should prepare ahead of time, noting that voters should go to Voter View Arkansas to pull up their sample ballot.

“There are many resources out there so voters can research the candidates and make the right choices for them,” she stated, adding that there is also a resource to learn more about the state issues on the ballot.

“We will have a lot of voters moving through the polls during early voting and election day,” Clack continued. “We have increased the capacity of both early voting polling centers so we can move lines through quickly. Our new check-in tablets make it easier to process voters quickly. We will need to see a photo ID for each voter. If voters have questions at any point during the voting process, we encourage them to ask any of the election officials at the polling site. We are always happy to help.”

Early voting will be Oct. 21-25 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Oct. 28 through Nov. 1 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Nov. 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and Nov. 4 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Craighead County Election Annex, located at 315 W. Jefferson Ave. in Jonesboro, and the Lake City Eastern Annex, located at 113 Cobean Blvd. in Lake City.
