Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 5, 2024 – Jonesboro police recently responded to a house on Olive Street where a burglary had taken place.

A woman told officers she’d been out of town for a few days and she had asked her neighbor to watch her house while she was gone. The neighbor called her right before she got back home, asking if there was anyone she said could get into her home. She told him no. When she returned home, she found that the door had been forced open, and some things were missing.

A neighbor said he saw a gray car parked in front of the house and he walked over to see what was going on. He met up with a man and a woman who said they knew the homeowner and that she knew they were at her house.

The woman the neighbor spoke with reportedly told him her name was “China” and left the house on Olive Street.

Investigators learned that several things were missing: a motorized bike, a regular bike, a blender, a flat-screen TV, and a floor jack.

Officers then went to an address on West Huntington, a known residence for the female suspect. She was there and reportedly became defensive when officers questioned her about her visit to the house on Olive. Because she was on parole, officers searched the Huntington residence. They found most of the items missing from the house on Olive. They also found a bag of meth on the living room floor.

The woman said she took those items from the Olive house so no one else would steal them.

Later, she guided the officers to the apartment of her accomplice, the man driving the gray car. When investigators got to his location on Nettleton, they found the missing blender.

The man was arrested for theft of property and given a bond of $25,000 cash or surety. The woman was charged with residential burglary and possession of meth and given a bond of $50,000 cash or surety. They both have a court date in late January.
