Pearl Harbor Remembrance Service to take place in downtown Jonesboro

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Dec. 5, 2024 – The annual Pearl Harbor Remembrance Service will be held downtown on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 10 a.m.

Anyone interested in attending will gather in front of the Craighead County Courthouse.

Craighead County Veterans Monument Foundation (CCVMF) President Lt. Col. Brian L. Mason, retired U.S. Army, will offer keynote comments. The event will honor three local servicemembers who were killed during the attacks, as Mason will reflect on his recent visit to the National Memorial in Honolulu, HI.

The event will co-occur with the christening of the newest U.S.S. Arkansas at Newport News, Virginia. This newest Virginia Class nuclear submarine is the fifth ship of her name. The CCVMF
will unveil the five newly laid memorial bricks on the monument honoring each U.S.S. Arkansas ship.
