Who’s on my Craighead County ballot?

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 18, 2024- With early voting starting Monday, Craighead County voters have a lot of choices this year in candidates with local, state and federal races, such as the presidential race.

The Jonesboro mayoral race has been one of the main races locally for voters this election season. Four non-partisan candidates are vying for the office, including the incumbent Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver, Jeremy Terrell, Councilman L.J. Bryant and Thomas Elwood.

Jonesboro Alderman Ward 2/Position 2 is another local non-partisan race between incumbent Chris Moore and challenger Keith Livesay.

There are also six Justice of the Peace races, including (candidates listed by order on the ballot):

  • Incumbent Brad Noel, Republican

JP District 4

  • Incumbent Linda Allison, Republican
  • Misty D. Humway, Democrat

JP District 5

  • Incumbent Richard Rogers, Republican
  • Chenoa Summers, Democrat

JP District 8

  • Incumbent David Tennison, Republican
  • Crystal Bell, Democrat

JP District 9

  • Incumbent Joshua R. Longmire, Republican
  • Deborah S. Johnson, Democrat

Of course, the federal race is also on everyone’s mind as the race for United States President comes close to an end.

The seven U. S. Presidential candidates and their running mates for Vice President include Republican candidates Donald J. Trump and J.D. Vance; Democratic candidates Kamala D. Harris and Tim Walz; Independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., and Nicole Shanahan; Prohibition Party candidates Michael Wood and John G. Pietrowski; Libertarian candidates Chase Oliver and Mike ter Maat; Solidarity candidates Peter Sonski and Lauren Onak American; and Green Party candidates Jill Stein and Rudolph Ware.

The other federal race is for U.S. Congress District 01, which has three candidates, including Republican Congressman Rick Crawford, Democrat Rodney Govens, and Libertarian Steve G. Parsons.

Early voting starts Monday. The General Election will be on Nov. 5.
