Police Chief Mike Yates Resigns

Jonesboro Police Chief Mike Yates has submitted his letter of resignation to Mayor Harold Perrin.  The resignation is effective immediately.  Perrin says Assistant Chief Tim Eads will continue as Interim Police Chief until a new Chief of Police is selected.

Yates had been suspended for 30 days without pay on Friday by Mayor Perrin as a result of comments made by Yates about a Jonesboro Sun reporter on Yates’ Facebook page.
