According to the probable cause affidavit, on July 9, Craighead County deputies responded to a home on County Road 775 for a shots fired call. There, they met with two people walking along the road looking for shell casings.

Security video showed an SUV driving slowly before coming to a stop. A muzzle flash is seen coming from the driver’s window, and dirt kicked up where the round hit the ground. One of the people ran out to confront the subject, but they left soon after.

The driver, identified as Jones, was stopped by Deputy Ronnie Craine and found to be on active felony probation. The affidavit stated that other officers had searched the vehicle because of the smell of marijuana before Craine’s arrival. In it, they found 14 grams of marijuana, a scale, and a firearm.

Jones was arrested and booked into the Craighead County Detention Center at 11:20 p.m., according to the jail roster. He is awaiting his next scheduled court appearance on Aug. 21. If convicted, he faces up to eight years in prison and fines of up to $15,000.
