Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – Arkansas State University’s Delta Center for Economic Development is encouraging high school students in the area to register for the upcoming Thrown to the Wolves competition, a high school innovation event inspired by the popular television show “Shark Tank.”

“If students are interested in entrepreneurship or have an idea for a product or service, Thrown to the Wolves offers the perfect platform to gain the confidence boost they need to take the next step, said Andrea Allen, executive director of the Delta Center for Economic Development. “Participants will be paired with dedicated mentors during the preparation phase to provide tailored guidance and help them bring their ideas to life.”

The event, open for 10th through 12th graders to compete, allows teams of one to three students, and schools are welcome to enter multiple teams.

Registration is now open through Friday, Nov. 21, and the competition will take place at Arkansas State University on Wednesday, Feb. 25.

First through third place winners will receive cash prizes, a one-time scholarship to A-State, and one year of free workspace at the A-State Innovate Garage. Additionally, first place winners will be offered a marketing package from The Solutions Group if they choose to launch a real business or pursue a patent for their product.

Students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to showcase their creativity and business potential.
