Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Two people are behind bars after police said an investigation into a suspicious vehicle at a Jonesboro motel on Tuesday resulted in the seizure of marijuana, cash, and a fentanyl mixture.

Court documents state that on Feb. 10, Jonesboro police officers met with three people, including 34-year-old Troy Lamont Green and 33-year-old Rachel Davis, both of Memphis, TN, sitting in a running car parked at Motel 6, regarding illegal narcotic activity happening there.

Officers said that the vehicle had a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside, and Green told them that he had smoked marijuana earlier. The three people were told to get out, and a search of the vehicle was conducted, revealing several items:

  • 22.76 grams of marijuana
  • Packaging baggies
  • A black digital scale with marijuana residue

Police also found $2,820 in cash on Green and two cellophane bags in Davis’ purse that contained a yellow and blue powder, weighing 5.6 grams total. A TruNarc test at the police department revealed the powders to be a meth/fentanyl mixture.

Davis and Green were placed into custody and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center sometime after 1:30 a.m., the online jail roster shows.

The two appeared before District Judge Tommy Fowler the next day for their probable cause hearings.

Green faces two class D felonies: Possession of Schedule VI with the purpose to deliver, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He could receive up to six years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000 for each charge if convicted. Green was given a $35,000 cash/surety bond.

Davis faces one class C felony: Possession of fentanyl. She could receive three to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000. Davis was given a $100,000 cash/surety bond.

Both suspects are scheduled to be back in court on March 20.
