Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 9, 2025 – Josh Alfano, a Democrat and Jonesboro Economical Transit System employee, announced his candidacy for state House District 32.

“I’m running because through my job working for Jonesboro’s public transportation system, I see people every day who are struggling with the cost of living and cuts to important services that hurt our seniors and people with disabilities,” Alfano said in a news release.  “I’m a person of faith, and my faith requires me to not sit by when others are struggling.  We’ve got a whole bunch of politicians who’ve been in government too long and have lost touch with the needs of working folks. So it’s time for a new generation of leadership.”

Alfano is from Memphis, where he attended Remington College. He lives in Jonesboro with his wife, Ashley. He is also a member of Salvation Ministries, where he serves as a children’s pastor.

The District 32 seat is currently occupied by Rep. Jack Ladyman (R-Jonesboro). District 32 is a portion of Craighead County, with parts of Jonesboro included in the district.

The official filing period for candidates in the 2026 election cycle opens on Nov. 3, 2025. The primary election is March 3, 2026.
