Blytheville man accused of robbing Jonesboro Dollar General given $750K bond

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 27, 2025 – A Blytheville man is being held on a $750,000 cash/surety bond following a Sunday night robbery in Jonesboro.

Craighead County District Judge Tommy Fowler found probable cause Aug. 27 to charge 27-year-old Tyrell Lashun King with aggravated robbery, kidnapping, and obstructing governmental operations. This was following a robbery that took place Aug. 24 at the Dollar General on East Johnson Avenue.

According to the affidavit, officers encountered King upon arrival and ordered him to the ground. When doing so, King dropped an object resembling a handgun. He was then taken into custody.

Officers reviewed camera footage of the incident. In it, King could be seen entering the store, wearing a ski mask and gloves, and when doing so, he locks the door behind himself. He then interacts with multiple customers, and they all leave.

King is then seen with the “weapon,” which the affidavit said was actually “a set of Allen wrenches opened to approximately a 90 degree angle and wrapped in some sort of material, causing it to resemble a handgun at first glance.”

According to the affidavit, the footage shows him forcing the employees to open the safe, but due to a timer being on the safe, they are forced to wait. During this time, the affidavit said King forced an employee to empty the cash register into a bag he brought with him, but police arrived at the scene shortly after and arrested him.

The affidavit said after being arrested, King refused to tell officers who he was, but staff at the Craighead County Detention Center later verified his identity.

During Wednesday’s hearing, King also refused to acknowledge Fowler’s questions. He was given a GPS ankle monitor, given he was not from Jonesboro and has prior weapons and fleeing charges.

King’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 30.
