Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Business at Jonesboro area breakfast restaurants was brisk Saturday morning prior to the 11am kickoff of the football game between Arkansas State University and Southern Mississippi.

“Busy,” said Tom Fielder, owner of Fat City Grill and Steakhouse when asked how breakfast business was going this morning. “We also had customers ordering take-out breakfast for tailgates.”

“I think we’ve sold around 600 pieces of bacon already,” Jeffery Higgins, owner of J’Towns Grill said. “Breakfast is going great. We have a good brunch/breakfast following, especially on game days. And we have a lot of tailgate caterings today, too.”

The game today makes the first time in A-State football history the team has hosted an 11 a.m. kickoff time. The game was moved to 11 a.m. to accommodate a national television broadcast opportunity on ESPNU.

A win over Southern Miss today would place the Red Wolves on top of the Sun Belt Conference West Division.

Today marks the return of former A-State head football coach Blake Anderson to Centennial Bank Stadium. Anderson is the offensive coordinator at Southern Miss.
