Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Breaking Bonds Ministries is working to clear snow-covered sidewalks and driveways.

Wes Phillips, operational manager of Breaking Bonds, told JRN the effort was to help the community. Breaking Bonds men have been working since Sunday to clear sidewalks and driveways. He said about 50 clearings have been scheduled, with about 25 already completed, and crews would continue to work “until the snow melts.”

“To get out and just help the community and help the elders who are trying to get out and go to doctor visits and can’t get out of their homes,” Phillips said. “We’re helping church family members and people throughout the community just to be able to make their doctor’s appointments and get out and get odds and ins.”

Crews have mostly been working in Jonesboro, but Phillips said a few homes in Bono had also been serviced.

To schedule a shoveling, call Phillips at (870) 573-4132, and services will be scheduled. Service priority is based on donations, which can be cash or a check made out to Breaking Bonds Ministries. The donations help fund the organization, he said.

Breaking Bonds is a faith-based organization offering treatment and rehabilitation for those addicted to drugs and/or alcohol.

Phillips said crews have enjoyed clearing snow.

“They get to pray with people, they get to go out and interact with the public, and they all have positive attitudes and are glad to do the Lord’s work,” Phillips said.
