Brookland, AR – Contributed – What began as two Brookland sisters’ desire to make a difference has grown into a movement promoting kindness, inclusion, and belonging throughout their school and beyond.
Founded in October 2025 by Brookland Middle School students Willow Brown and Scout Brown, Blooming Beyond Bullying was created to encourage students to lead with kindness and help ensure that every child feels seen, valued, and included. The organization gained momentum, drawing more than 120 students to its first meeting and becoming one of the largest student-led organizations at Brookland Middle School.

Since its founding, Blooming Beyond Bullying has held 26 weekly meetings, providing students with a consistent space to connect, build friendships, encourage one another, and participate in activities centered around kindness and compassion.
Throughout the school year, students involved in Blooming Beyond Bullying participated in kindness initiatives, encouraged inclusion among their peers, and helped create a positive school culture. Members also designed and built a Blooming Beyond Bullying float for the Brookland football homecoming parade, sharing the organization’s message of kindness and belonging with the larger community.
The mission of Blooming Beyond Bullying expanded beyond the school walls when Willow became a published author. Her children’s book, Blooming Beyond Bullying, was inspired by the same message that launched the organization and encourages young readers to choose kindness, support others, and remember that they are never alone.
Since its release, the book has reached readers across the country. The message of Blooming Beyond Bullying has also spread through social media, where content focused on kindness, encouragement, and inclusion has reached hundreds of thousands of viewers.
“Blooming Beyond Bullying was created to remind kids that kindness matters and that everyone deserves to feel like they belong,” said Willow. “We hope it encourages people to look out for one another and choose kindness every day.”
Willow, who was recently crowned International United Miss Arkansas Preteen 2026, and Scout, who was crowned International United Miss Arkansas Jr. Preteen 2026, hope to use their platforms to continue expanding Blooming Beyond Bullying’s reach through community outreach, youth leadership, and kindness-focused initiatives throughout Arkansas and beyond.
As the school year comes to a close, Blooming Beyond Bullying is taking a summer break while celebrating a successful first year of impact. Plans are already underway for the organization to return in the fall with new opportunities to continue promoting kindness throughout the school and community.
