Car Hits Pole and Knocks Out Power for Craighead County Residents

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Entergy reported a power outage Monday morning after a car hit a pole southeast of CR 638 in Craighead County.

According to Matt Ramsey, communications manager with Entergy, crews are on site and working to restore power for about 660 residents. Multiple power poles were affected, and crews will have to manually dig new holes and replace them to restore power.

Ramsey said power would be restored this afternoon, and he hoped it would be early afternoon for residents. The accident is considered “public inflicted damage,” and Ramsey said, “We do have additional resources in the area, and they are helping out.”

He added that Entergy crews work “around the clock” to address outages as quickly as possible.
