Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – Arkansas State University students will share their research and creative activity through the 16th annual Create@State Symposium, a spring semester tradition at A‑State since 2011.

“Create@State: A Symposium of Research, Scholarship & Creativity” will take place Thursday, April 16, in the Carl R. Reng Student Union.

The symposium will feature over 180 poster presentations and a showcase highlighting faculty‑mentored research, scholarship, and creative works completed by undergraduate and graduate students from across the university’s academic disciplines. The event will also feature a business pitch competition and a 3MT® Three-Minute Thesis competition.

Dr. Kari Harris, director of student research and scholarship, said Create@State provides traditional and online students with opportunities to become fully engaged in faculty‑mentored research and creative projects throughout the academic year.

“Create@State showcases the co‑curricular scholarly and creative work of high‑achieving students in a professional, conference‑style setting and serves as the culmination of their year‑long efforts,” Harris explained.

The full symposium schedule can be found online.

Volunteer judges for Create@State 2026 will include Arkansas State University staff and faculty, as well as community members. Prizes in multiple categories will be announced during an awards celebration at 3 p.m. Friday, April 17, in the Woodard McAlister Family Club in Centennial Bank Stadium.
