Festivities planned for annual Paint the Town Red Week in Jonesboro

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 21, 2025 – The annual Paint the Town Red Week, hosted by the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, is scheduled for next week.

Paint the Town Red Week will begin with a proclamation from Mayor Harold Copenhaver.

Later in the week, the A-State Committee with the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce will visit a local middle school for a pep rally featuring representatives from A-State Athletics, according to a news release from the chamber.

Each year, Jonesboro businesses can participate in decorating contests. Additionally, there will be a contest this year for on-campus A-State students.

The news release said judging for the community contest will take place on Wednesday, Aug. 27, while campus designs will be judged on Thursday, Aug. 28. 

Later on Thursday, will be Order of the Pack, which is meant to welcome both returning students and new students to the Red Wolf family. Order of the Pack will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Centennial Bank Stadium.

The week will culminate with the Great A-State Block Party, to be held 5 to 9 p.m. on Aug. 29 on Main Street in downtown Jonesboro.

It will feature Copenhaver, A-State chancellor Dr. Todd Shields, Red Wolves head coach Butch Jones, vice chancellor for intercollegiate Athletics Chris Pezman, A-State mascots Howl and Scarlet, The Sound of the Natural State, as well as some members of the Red Wolves football team, and coaches and players from other A-State Athletics programs.
