Field smoke causes 6 vehicle crash, Kills 2

Manila, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – October 5, 2025 – Smoke from a burning field contributed to a six-vehicle accident Friday afternoon that killed two and injured two others.

Arkansas State Police Trooper Tanner Seal said Mackenzie Marie Risner, 21, Manila and Jan Sebastiaan Rabie, 32, Brookland were killed. Olivia Palmer, 21, Keiser and Keri Palmer, 43, Keiser were injured.

Seal said the wind blew smoke from a burning field East of Highway 181 near County Road 650 in rural Mississippi County. A 2018 GMC Terrain driven by Risner struck a 2012 Kenworth (driver unknown) and went into a ditch. A 2005 Kenworth driven by Rabie then collided with the 2012 Kenworth and ignited a fire and pushing the 2012 Kenworth into a 2022 Ford F250 (driver unknown). A vehicle driven by Olivia Palmer was then rear-ended by another vehicle pushing Palmer’s vehicle into the ditch.

The injured were taken to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis where their condition was unknown.

It is unknown whether charges will be filed in connection with the burning field.
