Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – The Fisher Street Community in Action’s (FSCIA) annual spring fish fry is set for mid-May.

The event is free for all to attend. Food will be given out via a drive-thru system, although there will be a station for those without a vehicle to walk up and receive food.

“It is basically giving back to the community because the community supports Fisher Street Community in Action,” said FSCIA CEO Charles Coleman.

While it varies each year, the event has typically drawn 400-500 people, with last year’s event bringing in 410, Coleman said. The event has been held for 10 years.

Various community groups will be present, handing out informational brochures. Organizations include the Department of Human Services, Legacy Lane, the 100 Families Resource Center, D.A.R.E, and more.

In addition to FSCIA giving out fish plates, the Jonesboro Police Department will also be there giving out hot dogs. Each person will receive one plate of food, which will include fish, fries and corn rolls.

The fish fry is scheduled for May 16, starting at 11 a.m. It will last until the fish runs out. It will take place at 315 N. Allis St., across the street from Fisher Street United Methodist Church.
