Additionally, those looking to get in a bit of movement before Independence Day can join the Patriotic Community Slow Roll. Hosted by Native Brew Works every Thursday for the past few years, this event encourages participants to deck themselves and their bikes out in red, white, and blue to celebrate.

The slow roll will take place on Thursday, July 2, beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Native Brew Works, 315 S. Gee St. Bikers will ride through Jonesboro for about an hour. The event is free, and no registration is required.

“I think it’s gonna get people out to celebrate with their friends and neighbors and families. And it’s a celebration of our independence,” Craig Rickert, executive director of the Jonesboro Advertising and Promotion Commission, said of both events. “Because it’s 250 years this year, it’s an important milestone to really celebrate that.”
