The contest is open to artists aged 5 and up. There are two submission categories:

  • General: Pick the medium and subject matter that “most represents your unique perspective.” Submissions are asked to be suitable for all ages.
  • Keep Jonesboro Beautiful: Highlight efforts that maintain, enhance and project the natural beauty of Jonesboro. This category aims to spark “thought and conversation to support adoption of beautification efforts.” This category is presented as a collaboration between the FOA and the Keep Jonesboro Beautiful (KJB) Commission.

FOA staff, KJB commissioners, and the public, will vote on the winners by donating in-date, non-perishable food items, which will be donated to the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas. The gallery will be open, and voting will be available Nov. 10-13 at the FOA Arts Center, located at 328 S. Main St. from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Artwork must be submitted to the Forum Theater Box Office, located at 315 W. Monroe Ave. from Nov. 3-6 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

All submissions must include the category the artist is entering. If entering the KJB category, also include a short description, about 50-100 words, about how the artwork meets that category’s criteria.

Submissions must include the artist’s name, as well as the artwork’s title, size, and medium. The best phone number and email to contact the artist must also be provided. For child submission, this can be a parent or guardian’s information. Providing the artist’s age is optional.

There are multiple categories to win in, which are listed below:

  • The “General” category community favorite will win two tickets to the FOA’s “Nutcracker Ballet,” as well as a $50 Hobby Lobby gift card
  • The FOA staff pick will win two tickets to the “Nutcracker Ballet” as well as art supplies from Arkansas State University’s Art + Design Department.
