Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – May 21, 2024 – A large fire in north Jonesboro surrounded an abandoned house on Monday and near the Sage Meadows Golf Course.
A Facebook post from the Jonesboro Fire Department explained that a grass fire was located off Highway 351 that threatened a house and extended into the adjacent wooded areas. Surrounding fire departments were called for mutual aid and brought tanker trucks and brush units. The fire was extinguished, preventing damage to the abandoned “mini mansion” located on the property.
The property, located at 3200 Old Greensboro Rd, was purchased by Gera Investments in 2019 for $1.3 Million and has been abandoned since. Gera told JRN that the property is slated for future development.
