Paragould, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A detention officer at the Greene County Sheriff’s Office is accused of furnishing prohibited articles to an inmate.
According to a news release from Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder, the department received information early last week that a detention center officer had been bringing items to the jail for a specific inmate.
“Detectives immediately began combing through hours upon hours of detention center video over the course of several days and were able to corroborate the information that had been relayed to detectives, Monday’s news release said. “Detectives were also able to locate at least one instance when the inmate in question, a trustee, brought an item to the now charged detention officer, and the item was taken home with them at the end of their shift.”

District Judge Curtis Hitt on March 6 signed a probable cause affidavit for the arrest of 40-year-old Alicia Albrecht, of Paragould, for Furnishing Prohibited Articles, which is a Class C felony.
According to the affidavit, Albrecht could be seen on Jan. 2 entering the employee’s entrance of the detention facility with a prohibited article. The affidavit said officers followed Albrecht, who had the article throughout the facility, where it was eventually delivered to the inmate.
Then, on Jan. 16, the inmate in question left his barracks with an unknown item inside a bag, the affidavit said. The inmate gave the bag to Albrecht, who left the facility with it at the end of her shift. Two witnesses were interviewed and provided details that Albrecht had been bringing prohibited items.
Hitt is to set Albrecht’s bond in open court later this week. She was transported to a neighboring detention center to be held pending the hearing. Online jail records show she was booked in the Lawrence County Detention Center on March 9 at 10:09 a.m.
Albrecht was relieved of her duties as detention officer effective immediately, the news release said. It added that investigation is active, and no further information will be released at this time.
