Paragould, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – A Greene County jury found Jamie Haney, 47, guilty of two counts of rape and sentenced him to a total of 60 years in prison, according to a press release from Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Hagood’s office.
The case was prosecuted by Deputy Prosecuting Attorneys Adam Butler, Bradley McBride, and Gerald Coleman. Circuit Judge Melissa Richardson presided and imposed the sentence.

The Arkansas Child Abuse Hotline received a referral regarding Haney inappropriately touching a minor female. The victim was interviewed by CACD Lesley Faulkner and disclosed that Haney performed sex acts on her on several occasions, which she described in detail.
According to court documents, Haney was arrested on Oct. 25, 2023, after the Greene County Sheriff’s Department took a report in reference to sexual assault involving a minor. The incident was then reported to the Child Abuse Hotline for further investigation.
Haney’s initial bond was set at $100,000, cash only, and later modified to $250,000, cash or surety, with the condition that there be absolutely no contact with the victim.
“This sentence sends a clear message—those who prey on children will be held accountable,” Deputy Prosecutor Adam Butler said. “We are grateful to the jury for their service. This outcome was only possible because of the victim’s courage in coming forward and telling her story.”
Butler added, “I also want to thank our law enforcement partners and child advocates, especially Captain Rhonda Thomas of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Investigator Lesley Faulkner of the Crimes Against Children Division of the Arkansas State Police, for their hard work and dedication. Their commitment to protecting children and seeking justice for victims is unwavering.”
The release concluded, “Prosecuting Attorney Sonia Hagood remains devoted to protecting the most innocent members of the community and appreciates the efforts of all law enforcement partners involved in this case.”
