Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A Harrisburg man is being held on a $100,000 cash/surety bond after police said he led officers on a high-speed chase in Jonesboro, running multiple red lights and going at speeds as high as 100 miles per hour.

District Judge David Boling found probable cause Nov. 12 to charge 25-year-old Anthony Lynden Adams with fleeing, no drivers license, and careless and prohibited driving. The charges are the result of an incident that occurred Aug. 20.

According to the affidavit, Jonesboro police officers saw a vehicle making an improper right-hand turn from Highland Drive to Browns Lane. Seeing the officers, the suspect, Adams, began fleeing, running a red light at Windover Road and Browns Lane. Officers lost sight of the vehicle at Browns Lane and Browns Lane Access Road.

Minutes later, additional officers saw the same vehicle going east on Parker Road. When officers attempted to stop the vehicle, Adams fled again, running another red light at Stadium Boulevard and Parker Road before turning south onto Stadium Boulevard.

Officers went after Adams and were able to get his vehicle’s license plate number before discontinuing the chase near Caraway Road and Stadium Boulevard. The affidavit said Adams was going up to 100 mph during the chase, “posing a significant danger to the public.”

On Sept. 8, Jonesboro police officers were contacted by Poinsett County deputies regarding the same vehicle, which had again fled from law enforcement. Deputies were able to box in the vehicle and took Adams into custody.

Adams’ next court appearance is scheduled for Dec. 16.
