Here2Hired connects Northeast Arkansas high school seniors to career opportunities

Jonesboro, AR – Contributed – Jonesboro Unlimited (JU) will present Here2Hired today (March 12), bringing together hundreds of local high school seniors and regional employers for a day focused on career connections and job opportunities. 

The new and exciting workforce development event will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.at Nettleton High School Gym, located at 4205 Paradise St.

Headlined by Hytrol, other local sponsors include St. Bernards Healthcare, Chris West Plumbing, Frito-Lay / Pepsico, Southern Marketing Affiliates, First Community Bank, Nabholz, Greenway Equipment, and Chick-Fil-A.

Approximately 330 high school seniors planning to enter the workforce after graduation are registered to participate. Students will attend in two separate sessions to create manageable group sizes and allow for more meaningful conversations with employers and training organizations.

Participating students represent Jonesboro High School, Northeast Arkansas Career & Technical Center, Brookland, Westside, Valley View, Nettleton, Trumann, and Walnut Ridge. A total of 26 employers and training organizations will be present to meet with students, discuss career opportunities, and begin building connections that could lead to employment after graduation.

The event will begin each session with a high-energy kickoff at the Nettleton Performing Arts Center (PAC), located a short walk from the gym.  Following the kickoff, students will return to the gymnasium to meet directly with employers and training organizations. 

Event Schedule

Session 1: 8:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.

  • 8:30 a.m. – Opening kickoff at the Nettleton Performing Arts Center
  • Students return to the gym to connect with employers and training organizations
  • 11 a.m. – Students dismissed with lunchboxes

Session 2: 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

  • 11:10 a.m. – Students arrive and eat lunch onsite in the gym
  • 11:30 a.m. – Opening kickoff at the Nettleton Performing Arts Center
  • Students return to the gym to connect with employers and training organizations
  • 2 p.m. – Students dismissed

Following the event, participating employers will initiate and schedule follow-up interviews between March 13 and April 1. Students who secure employment offers will be recognized during a special Signing Day Celebration on April 9 at 5:30 p.m. at St. Bernards Auditorium, highlighting their commitment to begin careers with their employers.

Here2Hired is designed to strengthen the region’s workforce pipeline by connecting graduating seniors with career opportunities in the Jonesboro region and helping local employers identify the next generation of talent.
