Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Hiring for Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux, one of Jonesboro’s soon-to-open eateries, is continuing, according to restaurant leadership.

The restaurant announced in late July that hiring had opened for approximately 85 jobs, including servers, hosts/hostesses, bartenders, cooks, support staff, and more.

Andrew DiPippa, regional operating manager of the McJunkins Restaurant Group, told JRN last week that around 33 positions had already been filled.

“We’re about halfway towards our goal of what we’d like,” DiPippa said. “The hiring has been tremendous so far, and Jonesboro has proven ready for our restaurant to be there.”

Interested candidates can apply in person at the restaurant’s temporary hiring facility (on-site at 2809 E. Highland Drive) by visiting any day of the week, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., or apply online using this link.

Construction for the new restaurant is ongoing. DiPippa said the goal is to have the facility open in late September or early October, depending on any potential construction delays. Construction began in November 2025.

“The goalpost keeps kind of moving a little bit based on some weather. In Northeast Arkansas earlier on in the summer, there was about, it seemed like, three weeks of rain, which obviously put a big damper on that improvement,” he said.

Closer to the restaurant’s opening, DiPippa said billboard displays and social media campaigns will ramp up to inform residents. There will also be a few mock opening nights, followed by a ribbon-cutting scheduled for before the Monday the restaurant fully opens. Various community giveback initiatives are also in the works, he said.

Walk-On Sports Bistreaux is a sports bar and restaurant chain featuring Louisiana-inspired food. It has over 75 restaurants, most of which are located in the southern United States. According to its website, the restaurant has locations in Arkansas in Conway, Little Rock, Fayetteville, Rogers, and Fort Smith.

The Jonesboro location will feature a state-of-the-art sports bar, numerous big-screen TVs for game-day viewing, patio seating for outdoor dining, and more. It will be located at 2809 E. Highland Drive.

“We’re excited to be part of the Jonesboro community,” DiPippa said. “We just wanted to find, in our opinion, the perfect spot, and we couldn’t be more excited to be there.”
