Brookland, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 7, 2025 – Assistant Chief Deputy of the Craighead County Sheriff’s Department Jason Allen announced his bid for Craighead County Sheriff Thursday.

Allen, a Republican, serves as Patrol Captain and Commander of the SWAT, K-9, and Dive Teams.

“With 19 years in law enforcement, I have earned the experience required to serve as our next
Sheriff,” Allen said in a news release. “I love Craighead County and its people. Our region can only prosper if our communities are safe. I believe that public servants must pledge to uphold our values and the
Constitution with honor and integrity, and I would be honored and humbled to have your vote.”

In a news release announcing his candidacy, Allen said he would be committed to being responsible with taxpayer dollars, protecting vulnerable populations, investigating and assisting in the prosecution of crime, using new technologies and maintaining high standards of conduct in public service.

Allen is chair of the Law Enforcement Training Academy Advisory Board, commander of the
Arkansas Sheriff Association Honor Guard, and a member of the Brookland School District and
Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce.

He is a graduate of Black River Technical College Law Enforcement Training Academy.

Earlier on Thursday, Craighead County Sheriff Marty Boyd announced he would not be seeking reelection.

“I’m grateful for Sheriff Boyd’s many decades of outstanding service to our community,” Allen said in the release.

A lifelong resident of Craighead County, Jason is a former small business owner and deacon at
his family church. He and his wife, Tennille, have been married for 30 years and have three
