Jets to Host Swim Meet

Jonesboro, AR – (Contributed) – June 21, 2024 – The Jonesboro Jets Aquatic Club will host the second event in a series of AAU summer swim meets Saturday. The “Jets Jammin Luau” swim meet will begin at 9 am at Jonesboro Pool & Recreation Center at 1421 W Nettleton Ave.

Jets Aquatic Club Board of Directors President, Tim Byrd, said he expects there to be approximately 90 swimmers participating in the event from Jonesboro, Searcy, Batesville, and Blytheville. Swimmers range from ages 7 to 18 and represent a variety of skill levels, from new to seasoned swimmers.   Ribbons will be awarded for 1st-8th place for individual events and 1st-3rd place for relays, and heat winners.

Jets Aquatic Club will host two additional swim meets this summer:

  • AAU Jets Summer Sizzler – August 10, 2024
  • USA Jets Jack Deacon Memorial Invite – September 13-15, 2024

The Jets Aquatic Club swimmers also have an active summer season outside of the home meets planned, traveling to Little Rock, Searcy, Blytheville, and Collierville, TN – as well as Fayetteville, AR for the USA Longcourse State Championships in July.
