Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – The Jonesboro Christmas Parade has officially become a nonprofit organization, a move organizers say will allow the local tradition to make a greater charitable impact across the community.

As part of this new chapter, funds raised through sponsorships, donations, and parade entries will now serve a dual purpose.

In an announcement Friday, organizers said for the first time, winners of each parade category will be given the opportunity to select a local nonprofit organization of their choice to receive a direct donation from the Jonesboro Christmas Parade.

“Our goal is simple: Bring our community together, celebrate the magic of Christmas, and give back to the organizations that make Jonesboro special,” organizers said.

The 79th Annual Jonesboro Christmas Parade is scheduled to roll through downtown Jonesboro on Friday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. This year’s theme is “A Night Before Christmas.”

The parade’s newly formed Board of Directors is expected to be introduced in the coming days, the announcement said.

Organizers are calling on the community to help make this year’s event a “tradition of giving back.” Opportunities for sponsorships, general donations, and float registration are currently available online at JonesboroChristmasParade.org.
