Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – The Jonesboro City Council approved the construction manager for the upcoming E-911/Real Time Crime Center.

The resolution was approved on the consent agenda. Items on the consent agenda are considered to be routine business and are enacted by one motion of the City Council with no discussion.

According to the agreement, Bailey Contractors, Inc. will be the construction manager, while Brackett-Krennerich and Associates, P.A. will be the architect.

The center, to be located on Washington Avenue in downtown Jonesboro after much discussion, will be a single-story building around 8,500 square feet. Plans say the structure will be a poured-in-place concrete hard shell with metal stud-framed walls and conventional mechanical and electrical systems.

Plans also call for the utilization of audio/video technology throughout the building to “facilitate communications and radio,” and a large information technology space.

The building will cost $5 million, and the funds will come from the $17.5 million revenue bond to finance various capital improvement projects across the city. Plans also list site development costs for the center, but do not specify the amount.

The center’s design is estimated to be completed in winter 2025 or early 2026, with construction to begin in spring 2026. In previous meetings, city officials have said the center would be completed in winter 2027.
