Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – Drivers are seeing continued relief at the pump this week as gas prices in Jonesboro drop noticeably, aided by the seasonal shift to winter-blend fuel.

According to AAA, the current average for a gallon of regular unleaded in Jonesboro sits at $3.80. This represents nearly a dime drop from the $3.89 average a week ago, and a 20-cent decrease from last month’s $4.00 average, though it remains significantly higher than the $2.65 average recorded at this time last year.

The current average prices for the Jonesboro area are:

  • Regular: $3.80
  • Mid-Grade: $4.20
  • Premium: $4.74

Across Arkansas, drivers are also seeing decreases at the pump, with the state now officially ranking among the top 10 least expensive gasoline markets in the nation.

AAA reports that the statewide average for regular unleaded is currently $3.88. This marks a six-cent drop from $3.94 a week ago and a nearly 20-cent drop from $4.07 a month ago. At this time last year, drivers across the state were paying an average of $2.65 per gallon.

The current average prices across Arkansas are:

  • Regular: $3.88
  • Mid-Grade: $4.38
  • Premium: $4.77
  • Diesel: $5.92

These local and statewide declines mirror a broader national trend, largely fueled by the transition to winter-blend gasoline, which is cheaper to produce and costs less for consumers.

According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline fell six cents over the last week to $4.27. However, the relief is being blunted by high crude oil prices, which are nearing $100 per barrel amid instability in the Strait of Hormuz.

Experts believe that because these elevated crude prices are preventing steeper declines at the pump, this month is poised to become the most expensive October on record for gas prices, following similar records set in August and September.
