Across Arkansas, prices are slightly higher. AAA reports that the statewide average for regular unleaded is currently $4.06. This reflects a slight uptick from $4.04 a week ago and a noticeable jump from $3.78 a month ago. At this time last year, drivers across the state were paying an average of $2.77 per gallon.

The current average prices across Arkansas are:

  • Regular: $4.06
  • Mid-Grade: $4.55
  • Premium: $4.93
  • Diesel: $6.16

These local and statewide increases reflect a broader nationwide trend of unseasonably high fuel costs.

According to AAA, the national average for a gallon of regular gasoline climbed nearly five cents over the past week to $4.48, marking the highest level on record for this time of year. September is also pacing toward a new record high, with the national monthly average currently at $4.30, surpassing the previous September record of $3.83 set in 2023.

While autumn typically brings lower pump prices, ongoing volatility in the Strait of Hormuz and elevated crude oil prices have kept markets tight. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude settled at $92.16 per barrel, while latest data from the Energy Information Administration (EIA) points to rising domestic gasoline demand alongside falling supplies.
