Jonesboro library hosting various events in March

Jonesboro, AR – JonesboroRightNow.com – Several events are scheduled through March at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.

The library’s Children’s Department will be hosting weekly Storytimes, which are held from 10 to 11 a.m. These sessions, which are free and open to the public, are designed to support early childhood literacy and development using stories, songs and interactivity.

The dates, times and themes for each Storytime are listed below. There will be no Storytimes during the week of March 23-27 due to the Spring Break Staycation events

Pre-K Storytime (Ages 3 to 5) – Tuesdays and Wednesdays:

  • March 3 and 4: Construction Junction
  • March 10 and 11: Let’s Go Shopping
  • March 17 and 18: Active Listening

Toddler Time (Ages 19 to 36 months) – Thursdays

  • March 5: Construction Junction
  • March 12: Let’s Go Shopping
  • March 19: Active Listening

Bookish Babies (Ages 0 to 18 months) – Fridays

  • March 6: Let’s Build!
  • March 13: At the Farmer’s Market
  • March 20: Colors

Additionally, the library will be hosting its monthly Murder and Mayhem Book Club on March 5 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Civic League Room. This month’s book is “Long Haul: Hunting the Highway Serial Killers” by Frank Figliuzzi, and April’s book will be “Midnight in Chernobyl: The Untold Story of the World’s Greatest Natural Disaster” by Adam Higginbotham.

Books can be checked out in both physical and digital formats. The club meets on the first Thursday of each month, and community members can join the club’s Facebook group. Patrons who are interested in participating can email bburgess@libraryinjonesboro.org for more information.
