Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A Jonesboro man already in jail for multiple charges faces a new charge after police said he moved furniture between empty apartments he was living in without permission.

According to an affidavit, on Nov. 24, a detective conducted an interview with 20-year-old Jordan Jabari Dean about a case involving officers responding to the 900 block of North Patrick Street for a breaking or entering that occurred on Nov. 17.

During the interview, Dean said he and a friend had been staying in apartments on the street. He explained that he was homeless and would find empty apartments to stay at without the knowledge or consent of the property owner. At one point, he said he was locked out of an apartment, his friend broke a window, and Dean used a ladder to get back into the apartment.

The affidavit stated that Dean would enter one apartment and remove furniture and other items for use in another apartment. Items included key fobs, cards, and miscellaneous stolen property. Dean denied both personally breaking the window and having involvement with the items.

Police said that damages to the apartment, including three windows and three doors, amounted to $1,700.

On Nov. 26, Dean appeared before District Judge David Boling, who found probable cause to charge him with residential burglary and first-degree criminal mischief (property of another with a value over $1,000 but $5,000 or less).

Dean was already being held in the Craighead County Detention Center on a $125,000 cash/surety bond on two charges: Theft of a vehicle valued at less than $25,000 but greater than $5,000, and a drug court violation. The new charge will run concurrently with the other charges, and the bond will stay the same.

Boling also ordered Dean to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon his release.

Dean’s next court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 23, 2026.
