Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 24, 2025 – Police arrested a Jonesboro man after they said he stole more than $62,000 from a business he was working at by forging and cashing customer checks.

Judge Ralph Wilson found probable cause Sept. 24 to charge 39-year-old Justin Paul Hall with theft of $25,000 or more (all others) and second-degree forgery. This comes after Jonesboro police were contacted on April 14 about a theft from a local business, which was not identified in the affidavit.

According to the affidavit, for several months, Hall, an employee, had been fraudulently depositing customer checks into his personal bank account instead of the business account. The victim told police that customers would typically buy items or services from the business and write checks with only the amount filled in, leaving the payee line blank.

Customers would then contact the business to authorize depositing the checks. Upon being informed, Hall would write his name on the payee line, date the check, and deposit it into his account. Police were provided multiple copies of altered checks containing Halls’ name and signature, totaling $62,700.55.

A warrant for Hall’s arrest was issued by District Judge David Boling Sept. 12, and Hall was booked into the Craighead County Detention Center Sept. 22. He is being held there on a $65,000 cash/surety bond.

Hall’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 30.
