Jonesboro police investigating Thursday afternoon shooting

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Sept. 18, 2025 – The Jonesboro Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred Thursday afternoon.

According to a news release from JPD, around 12:30 p.m., officers responded to the 1800 block of Kenwood Street after witnesses heard shots in the area. In the street, officers found blood and casings when they arrived, the release said.

“No victims were found at that location. A short time later, a 16-year-old male with an apparent gunshot wound was dropped off at an area hospital for further treatment. He is currently listed in stable condition,” the release said.

Police are working on developing suspect and witness information.
