UPDATE | Jonesboro police investigating Wednesday afternoon shooting

Update 5:09 p.m.:

JPD said in an update that Jonesboro fire and EMS crews responded to the police department for a second gunshot wound victim relating to Wednesday afternoon’s shooting. The update also said the male victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Jonesboro police officers are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting.

According to a JPD news release, police responded to Chateau Apartments, which are in the 800 block of Caraway Road, around 3:02 p.m. regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they found one victim with an “apparent gunshot wound to the leg,” the release said.

The release added that the case is an active investigation and that further details would be released as they became available.

Anyone with information regarding the shooting is encouraged to call JPD or CrimeStoppers at 870-935-7867.

“If your tip leads to an arrest, you may be eligible for a cash reward,” the release said.
