He explained at the meeting that the group, which is comprised of around 200 members, is heavily involved in local education, offering scholarships to students and providing support for local school FFA programs.

According to a press release, the organization is responsible for maintaining numerous green spaces around the city, including butterfly gardens and landscaping at downtown locations like the Municipal Building and the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library.

Clark placed special emphasis on the Riceland Community Garden, located at the corner of Burke Avenue and Floyd Street. It sits on a half-acre of land donated by Riceland Foods. The company also supplies the garden with seeds, various supplies, and three water faucets to ensure the crops thrive.

The release said that 58 volunteer Master Gardeners work to keep the vegetables and flowers at the garden thriving.
