Jonesboro Wins Fox Football Faceoff Vote, Valley View Wins on the Field in 870 Bowl

Jonesboro, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – The Jonesboro Hurricane may not have won Friday night’s game, but they did win the battle of the Fox Football Faceoff against their cross-town rivals.

A huge crowd turned out Friday night for the matchup between Jonesboro and Valley View, billed as the 870 Bowl, and Jonesboro fans came out on top in the weekly voting competition sponsored by 104.9 The Fox and Roof Raiders.

The Hurricane received enough votes to earn the weekly $250 prize, with a $250 check presented to the Jonesboro Hurricane Booster Club as part of the promotion.

The Fox Football Faceoff is a season-long promotion from 104.9 The Fox that puts two area high schools head-to-head each week. Fans vote for their favorite school by text, with the school receiving the most votes earning $250 for its athletic booster club.

While Jonesboro won the battle for the votes, Valley View won the battle on the field.

The Blazers defeated the Hurricane 30-21 Friday night in the 870 Bowl.

The Fox Football Faceoff now moves to another Northeast Arkansas matchup.

Paragould at Trumann Up Next

Next week’s Faceoff will feature the Paragould Rams at the Trumann Wildcats Friday night.

Voting begins Monday.

Fans can vote for Paragould by texting RAMS or vote for Trumann by texting WILDCATS to: 870-930-9105

Once again, the school receiving the most votes will receive a $250 donation for its athletic booster club, courtesy of Roof Raiders and 104.9 The Fox.

The Fox Football Faceoff continues throughout the high school football season, with a new matchup, a new voting battle and another $250 on the line each week.
