Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Nov. 12, 2024 – A Jonesboro woman reportedly beat up her neighbor after an argument about Christmas decorations.

On Nov. 11, Jonesboro police were dispatched to an apartment on Belt Street in reference to an assault. The victim told officers the incident started when 22-year-old Shaylin Moore put up a blow-up Christmas decoration and asked the victim to keep her dog from tearing it up.

A verbal argument began, after which the victim went inside her apartment. The victim was sitting on her couch when Moore reportedly came inside, jumped on the victim and began punching her. The victim’s dog jumped toward Moore and scratched her face, leaving a small scratch on her nose.

According to the probable cause affidavit, while officers were speaking with the victim, Moore spontaneously admitted to entering the apartment and starting a fight with the victim. The document states that “officers kept advising Moore that they would speak to her shortly, but Moore kept talking, admitting that she did it.”

Moore is charged with one count of residential burglary and one count of third degree battery. She was given a court date of Dec. 17 at 9 a.m. and a bond of $10,000 cash or surety.

She was arrested Nov. 11 at 3:21 p.m. and bonded out of the Craighead County Detention Center Nov. 12 at 3:39 p.m.
