Harrisburg, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – September 18, 2025 – A Poinsett County jury comprised of eight women, and four men acquitted a Harrisburg man of multiple counts of rape and sexual assault Thursday morning.
Jurors found Jerry H. Collier, Jr., 60, of Harrisburg, not guilty of two counts of Rape and four counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree.
Collier was represented at trial by attorneys Zach Morrison of Lake City and Martin E. Lilly of Jonesboro.
Collier was arrested September 9, 2023. His bond was originally set at $300,000. The bond was reduced to $200,000 on January 2, 2024. Collier was released after posting bail January 19, 2024.

The unanimous Not Guilty verdict came after a three-day jury trial held at the Poinsett County Detention Center Courtroom in Harrisburg. If convicted, Collier faced maximum sentencing exposure of two life sentences, plus eighty years. The alleged victims in the case were seven and nine when the incidents were alleged to have occurred.
“Twelve unbiased citizens of Poinsett County heard this matter over the last three days and delivered justice to Jerry Collier,” Morrison said. “On behalf of Mr. Collier, and my co-counsel Mr. Lilly, we appreciate the time and careful consideration of the jurors.”
