Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – A driver initially pulled over for a traffic violation is now being held on a $150,000 cash/surety bond after police said multiple drugs and a loaded weapon were found inside his vehicle.

District Judge David Boling found probable cause on Nov. 26 to charge 44-year-old Anthony Lloyd King with the following:

  • Class C Felony: Possession of a Schedule I or II substance (not meth or cocaine) with the purpose to deliver
  • Class D Felony: Possession of a Schedule IV or V substance with the purpose to deliver
  • Class D Felony: Possession of a firearm by certain persons
  • Class Y Felony: Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms
  • Misdemeanor (Unclassified): Careless and prohibited driving
  • Class C Felony: Possession of meth or cocaine with the purpose to deliver less than two grams

According to the affidavit, on Nov. 25, Brookland police officer Cody Ladner noticed a SUV driving on Highway swerving outside the marked traffic line and going over the fog line multiple times, leading to a traffic stop.

Ladner noticed, while talking to the driver, King, that he appeared nervous and was physically shaking. He also saw a plastic lock box near the center console, commonly used to conceal and transport illegal drugs. Ladner ran King through the Arkansas Crime Information Center and found he had prior drug-related arrests.

The affidavit said that after Ladner was denied a vehicle search, he deployed his K-9 partner, BOLO, to conduct a free air sniff around the vehicle. After receiving a positive alert from the passenger side of the vehicle, King was told a search would be conducted.

Several items were found in the vehicle during the search including:

  • A Xanax pill and meth reside inside the lockbox
  • Plastic baggies containing 1.6 grams of meth
  • Clonazepam pills
  • A plastic baggie containing 11 LSD tablets
  • A Mossberg 12-gauge shotgun loaded with three rounds

As a result, King was arrested and taken to the Craighead County Detention Center.

In addition to the $150,000 bond, Boling ordered King to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon his release.
