Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Applications for the 40th anniversary class of Leadership Jonesboro have opened.

Leadership Jonesboro offers hands-on learning experiences designed to promote civic engagement, understanding of community issues, and professional relationships. This year’s sessions will cover city, county, and state government, education, public health, and more.

“This anniversary class promises to be one of the most dynamic and memorable in the program’s storied history. We hope you will apply or encourage someone in your organization who is ready for the next step in their leadership journey,” Cody Slater, vice president of chamber programs for the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, said in a news release.

Tuition, which is $1,750, includes the cost of session materials, meals, personality assessment, transportation, and lodging for the required overnight sessions.

Two scholarships covering the full tuition are available for nonprofit members through the Betty T. Sloan Foundation and the Craighead County Community Foundation.

Anyone who is a member of the Chamber, or is employed by a member, can apply. Up to 30 applicants will be selected to participate. Applicants cannot be running for public office when they apply.

A completed application form, a professional headshot, a recommendation letter from a supervisor, and a scholarship request letter, if applicable, must be submitted.

Applications must be emailed to Slater at cslater@jonesborochamber.com by 4 p.m. on Dec. 26.

Orientation for this year’s class will be Jan. 22, 2026, and graduation is set for Aug. 7. There will be a mandatory retreat March 11-13 in Heber Springs, and the mandatory state government session will be May 14-15 in Little Rock. The classes typically meet two Thursdays per month from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

A total of four absences are allowed, excluding the mandatory sessions.
