Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – July 16, 2024 – Over the weekend, the NEA Gamer’s Guild hosted NEA Game Fest at the Hilton Garden Inn.

This is a gaming convention that features open gaming and game demos for a variety of board games, role playing games (RPGs), collectable card games (CCGs), miniature games, tournaments, and more!

The NEA Game Fest in addition to finding and participating in the local gaming community is also a chance for the NEA Gamer’s Guild to raise money for charity. Since their first convention in 2017 they have raised over $25,000 for charity!

This year’s charity was Friends of the Library, a group of volunteers who support the library and promote literacy in our community.

This year NEA Game Fest helped to raise more than $11,000 for the Friends of the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library. The money raised will go back to help support the library with its programming, resources, and materials.

If you are interested in participating in the NEA Gamer’s Guild you can join them at the Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library every second Saturday or at the Independence County Library every fourth Saturday for their monthly game days.

If you are interested in supporting the Friends of the Library, you can bring donations of money or gently used books, magazines, puzzles, games, audiobooks, CDs, and DVDs, to the Circulation Desk during the library’s operating hours.

If you would like to volunteer for Friends of the Library, you can stop by the library for the Friends of the Library brochure, which has the membership application inside.
