Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Aug. 8, 2025 – British tradition comes to Northeast Arkansas at the Holly Blossom Tea Room, downtown Jonesboro’s newest business offering a one-of-a-kind afternoon tea experience.

The Holly Blossom Tea Room was brought to life by the owners of The Parsonage restaurant, John and Ramey Myers.

Inspiration for the tea room came from Ramey’s experience living in Europe. Coming back to Arkansas, she realized the lack of opportunities to participate in a traditional British tea experience and wanted to create a space where people in the community could enjoy an authentic European-inspired afternoon tea.

“The Holly Blossom Tea Room is truly one-of-a-kind in the Jonesboro area,” she said. “There just wasn’t a space dedicated to the timeless charm of afternoon tea. I lived in Europe for about three years and absolutely loved stopping in the middle of the day to slow down and plan the rest of my day, enjoying each other, plus the pastries are always a nice treat.”

The Holly Blossom Tea Room officially opened on Aug. 1, but Ramey said it has taken years of hard work to come to fruition.

“I have spent countless hours on every detail, from the teacups to the table settings, they have been thoughtfully curated to offer an experience unlike any other,” Ramey said. “From selecting teas to designing the space, it has been a true labor of love.”

Currently, the tea room offers a traditional afternoon tea experience and private event services for birthdays, showers and more. In the future, Ramey plans to host themed celebrations, such as an event inspired by the works of Jane Austen and a “Bridgerton” themed weekend.

At the Holly Blossom Tea Room, each guest chooses a pot of tea from the tea room’s curated selection of black, green, rooibos and special seasonal blends.

“These are not your typical teas, certainly not like out of a tea bag. Some current favorites are Tropical Rainforest Green, French Crème Brûlée Rooibos and Picasso Blue Black,” Ramey said.

Guests can also enjoy a three-course meal that includes traditional savory tea sandwiches, scones with clotted cream and jam and a wide selection of desserts, made in house by the chef.

Ramey said guests should “slow down, relax and enjoy” the experience.

“Afternoon tea is meant to be savored, not rushed. Guests will enjoy a thoughtfully timed service, a beautifully set table and a warm atmosphere that invites conversation and connection or just catch up on gossip,” she said. “Whether it’s your first tea room visit or your fiftieth, we hope you leave feeling like you’ve experienced something truly special.”

Due to the intimate space and structured tea service, reservations are required. Guests are encouraged to book in advance through the Holly Blossom Tea Room website. Two seatings are offered Thursday-Sunday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

The Holly Blossom Tea Room is located at 305 S. Main St. and can be followed on social media at The Holly Blossom Tea Room, where Ramey said to keep an eye out for upcoming events, specials, and “tea membership” developments.

This year’s song of the summer is a ballad, not a banger. Here’s what that says about us

For the past 14 weeks and counting, the top Billboard spot has been held by a love ballad: Alex Warren's "Ordinary." As Berklee College of Music professor and forensic musicologist Joe Bennett notes, the February release is "a fair bit slower than the mean average for the Hot 100, or for a historical song of the summer."
