Paragould, AR – Jonesboro Right Now – The first Fox Football Faceoff came down to a close vote—and the Paragould Rams came out on top.

Fans across Northeast Arkansas cast a heavy number of votes throughout the week in the inaugural competition presented by 104.9 The Fox and Roof Raiders, with Paragould receiving 52% of the vote compared with 48% for Manila.

The Fox Football Faceoff is a new season-long promotion from 104.9 The Fox that puts two area high schools head-to-head each week. Fans vote for their school, and the school receiving the most votes earns a $250 donation for its athletic booster club.

Before Friday night’s game, Trey Stafford, president and general manager of Jonesboro Media Group, joined representatives of Roof Raiders in presenting a $250 check to leadership of the Paragould Ram Athletic Booster Club.

The presentation took place before the Lions and Rams met on the field at Paragould.

The Rams then made it a clean sweep on the night, defeating Manila 45-21.

But the first Fox Football Faceoff showed just how competitive the school pride contest can be, with only a four-percentage-point difference separating the two schools in the voting.

Hoxie at Westside Up Next

The Fox Football Faceoff continues next week with another Northeast Arkansas matchup: the Hoxie Mustangs at the Westside Warriors on Friday night, September 4.

Voting begins Monday.

Fans can vote for Westside by texting WARRIORS or vote for Hoxie by texting MUSTANGS to 870-930-9105.

Once again, the school receiving the most votes will receive a $250 donation to its athletic booster club, courtesy of Roof Raiders and 104.9 The Fox.

The Fox Football Faceoff will continue throughout the high school football season, with a new game and a new school-vs.-school voting battle featured each week.

Pick your school. Cast your vote. Win $250 for your booster club.
