Jonesboro, AR – (JonesboroRightNow.com) – Oct. 2, 2025 – Two Jonesboro men are facing terroristic threatening and assault charges after police said they worked together to stop and intimidate a victim who recently reported them for poor job performance.
According to an affidavit, the victim said on Sept. 19, they were walking from work on Bernard Street when 21-year-old Jamari Louis Blankenship pulled in front of him, got out, and confronted the victim. Another vehicle, driven by 22-year-old Aquawon Dewon Blair, also pulled up behind the victim.
The victim told police that Blair got out wearing a black ski mask and was holding a gun. Blair began flinching the gun upward toward the victim to scare them, according to the affidavit. As the two left, the victim reported that Blair said, “If you tell anyone about this, I will shoot you.”
The affidavit said the victim saw Blair every day at work and recently complained about Blair and Blankenship’s job performance. Police obtained video footage of the suspects from their place of work and where the incident occurred. They determined that Blankenship was working with Blair, and his role was to stop the victim so that Blair could threaten him with a gun.
Arrest warrants were obtained for Blair and Blankenship on Sept. 26, and the two were arrested without incident. Additionally, a search warrant was obtained for Blair’s home, with officers finding 5.5 grams of marijuana and a pistol, the affidavit said.
Blankenship appeared before District Judge Tommy Fowler Sept. 29, who found probable cause to charge him with first-degree terroristic threatening, harassment, and third degree assault. He was given a $35,000 cash/surety bond and ordered to have no contact with the victim.
Blair’s probable cause hearing was held Oct. 1 in front of District Judge David Boling. He faces possession of a Schedule VI substance less than four ounces and third-degree assault charges in addition to first-degree terroristic threatening and harassment. Blair was given a $75,000 cash/surety bond and ordered to wear a GPS ankle monitor upon release.
Both are scheduled to appear back in court on Nov. 11.
